About Me
Lauren Brown is the founder, clinical director, and a practicing psychiatric nurse practitioner at GentlePsych, a psychiatry and therapy practice built on a simple but powerful belief: mental health care should feel human, collaborative, and deeply respectful of the person seeking help.

With a Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University and extensive clinical experience in psychiatry, Lauren brings both academic rigor and real-world understanding to her work. She founded GentlePsych to create a space where evidence-based care and genuine connection coexist—where therapy and medication management work together thoughtfully, not hurriedly, and where patients feel seen rather than processed.

Lauren currently sees patients and provides psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and collaborative care alongside the GentlePsych therapy team. Her clinical approach is grounded in partnership. She believes healing happens best when providers and patients work side by side, with trust, curiosity, and mutual respect at the center of the work.

As a clinical leader, Lauren is deeply committed to building a practice that values both patients and providers. GentlePsych prioritizes longer appointments, manageable caseloads, and a team-based approach—allowing clinicians to do meaningful work without burnout, and patients to receive care that is thoughtful and thorough. This structure reflects Lauren’s conviction that sustainable, high-quality mental health care benefits everyone involved.

Lauren’s own lived experience has shaped her belief in authenticity as a clinical strength. She brings warmth, humor, and approachability into the room, creating an environment where patients can show up as they are. She believes healing does not require perfection—only honesty, safety, and support.

Outside of the office, Lauren is a mom to twins, a bonus mom to two teenagers, and a proud dog mom to her Golden Retriever, Boston Brown. She understands firsthand the complexity of balancing ambition, caregiving, and personal well-being. That understanding informs both how she practices and how GentlePsych is designed—to support full, sustainable lives, not just symptom management.

Under Lauren’s leadership, GentlePsych continues to grow as a trusted, community-centered practice focused on compassionate, modern mental health care. Whether working directly with patients or guiding the clinical team, Lauren remains deeply invested in providing care that is intentional, ethical, and rooted in connection.
